Antsahadinta Rova

One of the best preserved Rova (former palace of the Merina royalty). Completely renovated, this Rova has kept its authenticity. Located about twenty kilometers from the capital, it differs from other sacred hills because here, the " fady " (cultural taboos) were deleted. National Heritage is an ideal place to discover the history of the Merina royalty and relax away from the bustle of Tana.

On this site, we can offer different packages (adventure, culture), a half day to a day and a half.

You can visit the Rova and its small museum, accompanied by Hery, the official guide of the site. It will also take you to the small nature trail that runs through the heart of the sacred forest (most of Antsahadinta plants have healing properties). Hery, enthusiastic guide, knows well the history of this site and take you to the time of the monarchy with its many anecdotes.

Then we will propose a tree climbing session near the Rova. You will enjoy a unique view of the surroundings and will discover local trees (Amontana, aviavy, tree lovers,...) in an original way.

If you wish, you can spend the night on the site with two options for sleep:  a camp night in a hammock at the top of the trees surrounding the Rova (view) or a small traditional house in the village.

The next day, we can offer a trek in the surrounding area or down the river, in collaboration with Madamax.

You will discover the surrounding countryside with its gardens and orchards, the old round stones that served as door and beautiful ancient tombs.

The Andromba river is quiet and offers a beautiful sinuous immersion in rural Malagasy life. There will always be a scene from everyday life to surprise you.
